Many Happy (and Safe) Returns
Many Happy (and Safe) Returns
Sara and Gil Wegad are children of the Depression. Typical of their experiences, they have always been financially conservative. Additionally, because they both have professional backgrounds in accounting, they have consistently sought good, sound returns on their investments. National Jewish, through its charitable gift annuity program, has provided that opportunity.
Now Sara and Gil can get a great return, attractive tax benefits and, best of all, a chance to support a great organization.
“I feel extremely secure with the high rate of fixed income we receive from our annuities,” Gil says. “I know we could receive the same rate of return at other institutions, but I selected National Jewish because they’ve been around for over 110 years and in these uncertain economic times, I have the most confidence in their planned gifts program.”
There’s another benefit, Gil notes. “Their mission really makes me feel proud,” he says. “Through our support, Sara and I are helping provide world-class patient care and groundbreaking research for those suffering with so many of the diseases National Jewish treats.”
Sara’s first gift to National Jewish Health was in 1973. It was the first of many frequent gifts she faithfully made through the years to her “favorite hospital.” As she notes, “I feel grateful that I can celebrate my appreciation for life each year on my birthday with a gift that impacts this wonderful institution.”
